Over the years several interventions have been made to it at regular scheduled repairs to keep them within normal operating parameters. The most important intervention on the machine was made in 2002. In this procedure the AMP70 machine was completely renovated besides replacing used mechanical components it was made the complete replacement of the induction heating installation with a new AEG-Eloterm germany installation also the lubrication system was updated with Weorner components. In 2011 was made an overhaul of the mechanical system of machine. In overhaul were rebuilding the slides, brass bushings cam shafts and the ram of machine.
In the URB bearings plant from Brasov with AMP70 it used to be made bearing rings from bar steel 100 Cr6 (max diameter of bar 65 mm), with the ma. weight of 3.0 kg for this machine we have tools for 58 types of bearings as follows:

1. Designation and Field of Application
The 2500 kN Hot Former is designed for production of parts from carbon steel and alloy steel as well as for simultaneous production of inner- and outer bearing rings by means of hot die forming operation from initial round hot rolled steel bars.
Hot Former is intended to be employed in metal-working industry in batch- and mass production. Hot Former is designed to be incorporated into Hot Forming Production Lines.
As initial material hot-rolled high precision steel rods are used.

3. Technical specifications and design of 2500kN Hot Former

3.1 Main components of Hot Former:
- Machine frame is a closed heavy frame of high rigidity. It is made of a one-piece steel casting which is subjected to stress relief heat treatment. The frame deformation under load is insignificant.
- Upsetting slide is a steel casting with arc-like lug, provided with two pairs of guideways arranged on both sides of crankshaft;
- Die block is made of high-tensile steel and is subjected to heat treatment. It is equipped with removable covers which are designed to facilitate the die set changing.
- Hot Former drive ensures smooth adjustment of the upsetting slide spm.
- Drive shaft with clutch and brake – clutch and brake are provided with electrical/pneumatic control. Valves are arranged directly at the clutch and brake and actuate without any noticeable delay.
- Crankshaft w/o webs is of high rigidity. It is made of advanced alloy steel and is US tested for cracks presence;
- Distribution shafts (transverse, longitudinal, etc.) rotate in slider bearings and serve for setting the operation cycle and amount of movement of all Hot Former mechanisms via cams arranged on these shafts.
- Die kick-outs are driven via the lever from the cam provided on the machine crankshaft. Provided at the top of the lever are three pressure bolts which impart movement to the kick-out rods. Kick-out lever is protected from overload by means of a safety device.
- The cut-off mechanism is designed to cut a slug off a heated bar stock and transfer it to the first forming station. Cut-off system is of open type and it consists of a stationary and a moveable blades with semicircular cutting edges.
- The bar clamping mechanism serves to firmly press bar to the stationary blade while cutting to provide for a high-quality cut. Bars are clamped via rod which moves through the insert and sets of disc springs.
- Slug clamping mechanism is intended to clamp a slug to the blade while cutting and to hold it so clamped while transferring it to the 1-st station.
- The punch sensing/cooling mechanism serves to check whether there is a slug caught on the punches and also to cool the tool. In case a slug got stuck on the punch the Hot Former stops its operation. Punch sensors can be easily changed. This mechanism is provided with a tilting bracket which serves to facilitate tool changing.
- Transfer mechanism is designed to clamp a workpiece discharged from dies and transfer it from one station to another one. Then it gets unclamped and returns to the initial station to perform the next cycle.
- Longitudinal transfer mechanism is driven via cams arranged on the camshaft.
- Transfer opening mechanism is driven via cams. Cams can be cycle adjusted.
- Material feed mechanism is driven from the cam via the slotted-link leverage. Unidirectional intermittent rotation of feed rollers is performed by means of the overrunning clutch. A permanent acting brake is provided to perform braking at the leverage return stroke.
- The material feed is performed by two quick-change roller couples. Feed rollers are clamped and unclamped by means of pneumatic cylinders. Clamping force of feed rollers can be adjusted based according to bar diameter.
- Material feed stop is adjustable, can be adjusted by the operator from the control panel.
- Short bar ends discharge system – short bar ends are discharged by the operator while setting-up right after cut-off by means of pressing a button on the control panel; further during regular working cycle the machine itself selects the proper time to discharge short ends by means of automatic discharge system.
- Oil circulation lubrication system, 2-circuit lubrication system with the lubrication plant from the machine Manufacturer. Interlocking of the Hot Former operation is provided in case of a delay in any one of the controlled feeders operation. Provided in the lubrication plant is a fine filter with electric signalling device which serves to warn about clogging.
- Tool cooling system. Water is supplied to the exterior/interior surfaces of punches and dies by means of tubes and sprayers. Water is drained into the workshop drain line.

4.2 ОАО Tyazhpressmash herewith offers to manufacture tools and to develop manufacturing technique to produce the Customer’s parts on the basis of a separate contract.
4.3 Not included into the Delivery Set:
- leveling and shock-absorbing elements;
- civil works of foundation building and manufacture of embedded parts ( respective drawings are supplied);
- induction heater (to be outsourced by the Customer);
- sound enclosure complete with servicing platform (can be supplied on the basis of a separate contract);
- water-oil separator (can be supplied on the basis of a separate contract);
- automatic rack intended to store and feed the bar stock into the induction heater (can be supplied on the basis of a separate contract);
- discharge conveyor to remove parts and wastes from the working zone (can be supplied on the basis of a separate contract);
- cooling conveyor (can be supplied on the basis of a separate contract);
- mounting supervision and set-up/commissioning;
- lay-out of supply mains up to the cabinets and distribution boxes;
- initial filling with working fluids.

5 . Other requirements
5.1 Equipment shall be painted in the manufacturer’s standard color RAL6034 (pastel turquoise) unless specified otherwise.
5.2 The equipment is intended for supply to macroclimatic regions with temperate climate. It shall operate indoors in heated rooms with air temperature ranging from +5°С up to +40°С at altitude above sea level up to 1000 m.


6. Mounting supervision and set-up/commissioning (on the basis of a separate contract)
6.1 Mounting supervision shall be performed by the Customers’ personnel and with the assistance of OAO Tyahpressmash technicians.
6.2 Set-up/commissioning shall be performed by OAO Tyazhpressmash technicians with the participation of the Customers’ personnel.
6.3 Set-up means setting-up the devices and mechanisms incorporated into the machine and the control system; it also means setting the components proper interaction to ensure rated technical specifications.
6.4 Presumable work schedule:
- 2 technicians from ОАО Tyazhpressmash visit the Customer for 5 days for foundation civil works acceptance;
- 4 technicians from ОАО Tyazhpressmash visit the Customer for 45 days to render mounting supervision services;
- 6 technicians from ОАО Tyazhpressmash visit the Customer for 30 days to render set-up services.
6.5 During set-up/commissioning services the technician from AO Tyazhpressmash provide training for the Customer’s personnel to operate the equipment supplied.
